Remember

Do you remember the first
day walking into the Academy?
How it looked so big
and intimidating…you never thought
that you could become attached to it.

But now…you’re leaving.
It’s like waiting for the summer to come.
Only it’s forever, and you’re never
going back.

Do you remember Home Ec
 and how you viewed the scary teacher?
How we messed up the recipes
by adding extra sugar to make
the class just that little bit sweeter.

But now...it's time up.
It's like holding your breath in exams.
Only they're finished, and you're moving
on from all that.

Do you remember the homework
that you always meant to do?
And how you'd rush through
it with your friends and panic
the period before it was due.

But now...it's finishing.
It’s like we never had much time.
Only now have, these lives of ours
now truly begun.

Do you remember the new
school and how much it cost?
And how the first years thought
that we'd know where to go
but we only managed to get lost.

But now...it's over.
And it's hard to believe it's true.
But don't forget, those who're close
and they'll remember you.
