Teardrops

If love were to leave a mark
When it touches an open heart
It could change a life
It could change a death
It could even change that one last breath

And even though when life is lost
Somehow love continues on
Through the storm
And the rain
And through those who care to morn

Yet as if a light is muffled by sleep
The tears cease to flow
Like a river
Or a stream
Or a wild and choppy sea

Whilst so unlike a cry of pain
This teardrop falls silently
Leaving ripples
Leaving waves
Leaving destruction in its wake

Yet though love is a willful force
Full of life, death and ones long lost
It blazes strong
It blazes fierce
It blazes through the nights forgone

So if a crack appears in a vital
Yet most secret place
That draws no blood
That draws no pain
That draws no sorrow nor leaves no stain

If such were possible that life could be
Without a drop of love or pain
Then what should there be
If there even can be
A heart with naught but to gain

So there is life and there is death
Lest to mention a thousand hearts
That lie in this world
That wait in this world
For the simplicity of love to make a start

Nicely written, the almost repeated but slightly altered phrases are very effective and i particularly like the second-last verse. Good work!
