Ventriloquist

Ventriloquist

A Poem by Nik DiCarlo
"

A poem about an individual stuck in a controlling relationship.

"

You know not what you do... What you do.
Puppet Master
Face of plaster.

This is our debut.

On my spine your hand like glue... Hand like glue.
Controlling me
to speak for you

words that are untrue.
The crowd begins to boo...

Begins to boo.

My head retracted,
the jaw unlatches
and falls down to your shoe.

And I never even knew Never even knew
That I was living,
Nose unforgiving Pinocchio voodoo.

The player piano tune
Player piano tune
Snaps at my strings
And hearing the pings
I’m now free to run far from you.

Blistered from wood I knew... Wood I knew,
Fire Eater
Liar, cheater

Words you’ll have to chew.

However did you construe... Did you construe.
I am vindicated
and recreated.

Now happy that we’re through.
