BonesA Poem by Nik DiCarloSince beginning school again as a studying nurse, I've incorporated my love for the dead with how to heal and help the living. Skeletons are my specialty.Maybe it's not the heart that's the most important part. Maybe it's not the lungs that breathe or the tongues that speak. It can't be the blood or the flesh or the palms. It isn't smiles or dancing to songs. The soul moves away, and the rest will decay. But the bones will forever lay. Skeleton buried, withered and weary smiling eternally. Tooth sockets, gums rotted ossification is ceased. Beautiful bones, the soul has gone home. Forever, may you rest in piece.
