FreeA Poem by K6-11-12
She stood in the midst of a sea of glass
Her blood slowly stained it red The remains of the mirror Symbolized her heart and her life. She knelt where she stood, Reaching for a broken shard She relished the pain it brought As she gripped it tightly in her fist. She let the tears flow, Letting out all the anger and hurt She had kept hidden inside of her For so many years. She placed the tip of the fragment against her skin Pressing it into her flesh and drawing more blood "I want to be free," she sobbed, Making her final decision. With one cut, she ended all the torment, Tears and heartache she had sustained throughout the years And set her soul free Like a bird from it's cage. © 2021 K |
