A Poem by K

A shadow of who I once was resides in my stead.

She fights more than I once did.
She gets angrier more than I once did.
She yells more than I once did.

Where has my former self gone?

She rolls her eyes more than I once did.
She forgets more than I once did.
She speaks more cutting words than I once did.

I need her back, that one I call myself.

She treats others unfairly more than I once did.
She speaks without caring of the effects more than I once did.
She tells lies more than I once did.

At the end of a fight, however, it is my tears staining the ground.
