Lost

Lost

A Poem by K
"

Old

"
A girl's first love is always,
And will always be,
Her father.

He's hero, protector,
Defender, lover, and
Her father.

The world seems magical, for a time at least,
Until reality creeps in like a thief in the night,
Just because of her father.

A jolly old man exists,
And she believes because someone told her it was so:
Her father.

And fairies are real,
Who collect teeth while you lay sleeping, says:
Her father.

But now she can't remember the times of fairies and men.
She only remembers heartache,
Just because of her father.

He was gone, the hero, protector,
Defender, lover, and,
Her father.

To all those with abandoned fathers, to all those without a strong leader, to all those who had to be their own hero.

Seems your poetry tells a continual sad story, piece by piece.
