Cantus Maeroris

Cantus Maeroris

A Poem by K

I have been left to my somber prison,
Empty save one inmate.
Forsaken by all who claimed to love me.
I know not whether I'm in a chthonic hole,
Or if there's an escape from this hell.
I'm wrapped in despair,
The bitter darkness suffocates me.
This is my Cantus Maeroris,
My last song of sorrows.
I surrender my last ray of hope,
Dropping to my knees and hanging my head in defeat,
Waiting for death's blow to claim me.
I was in dread of the blade's fall,
But I had chosen my fate.
