The DanceA Poem by KYou just keep going backWith reckless abandon, And impulsive haste, I grabbed my partner’s hand. The dance has begun. I knew not with whom I danced, That he, the tempter, was liken unto a cat, And I, his prey, the one who sought. The game has begun. His true nature started to show, His sinister side had been revealed. My head warned me to flee. The test has begun. I tried to pull away, I sought my freedom from this dance, Even while he tried to captivate me again. The war has begun. I could feel his smoldering anger As I left him in my wake, And as I left the dance. My destruction has begun.
