Nightmare or Reality

Nightmare or Reality

A Poem by K
"

Maybe some of you will know the pain..

"
Her eyes snap open.
Nightmare or reality?
Which was she living in now?
Her head falls to the side.
He's beside her, sleeping.
He didn't die.
Or did he?
Was this the nightmare
Where she dreams he is alive?
The accident.
Did it occur?
Or was it imagined?
What's real?
What's not?
There's no way to tell.
Was he even real?
Or a conjured up hallucination
To further drive her insane?
Were there ever going to be answers,
To distinguish one from the other?
She sobs in utter despair.

The wording you've chosen for this really conjures up a feeling of uneasiness and urgency, and I can feel the fear and uncertainty. Distinguishing reality from such terror is horrifying in itself. It's short but well written and I rather like it; well done!
