Goodbye, My Silent Puppeteer [Freewill]A Poem by NightsShadePull my strings, my silent puppeteer Manipulate me, let the crowd cheer You tie me down my man, you're oh so vile This forced appearance, a perpetual smile My buttons pushed, these strings attached This life of mine... the dreams you have snatched The time on stage, a place I dread to be Forced to play, act like someone that's not me Lines to be remembered, my mouth wrenched open To say things I can't feel, knowing only what's written Then that time, it comes around again The clocks struck twelve, the play's at an end The show's over, the red curtain dropped My tragedy, suspended, now stopped Cast off, forgotten, lost in your world that made me so ill. And all I've ever wanted, needed, was my freewill © 2010 NightsShadeAuthor's Note
