I Need Quiet.

I Need Quiet.

A Poem by NightsShade

Zap zap! Goes the fly,

When it hits the light.

Buzzing around the room,

Zooming from wall to wall.

Irritating and driving you mad.

QUICK! It's landed!

Where is the blasted fly swatter?

You run back into the room,

Fly swatter in hand,

But where has it gone?

Then...

A moment of silence,

No pest it sight.

Just the beauty of a quiet room,

Relieved of its tormentor.

You shut off the light,

And crawl into bed,

Snuggling under the covers.

Your bed gets warmer,

And your eyelids heavier.

Zap zap! Goes the fly,

As it hits the extinguished light.

Buzzing over your head,

Zooming around in the dark.

Keeping you awake and angry.
