Patriotic Poem

Patriotic Poem

A Poem by Skippy
"

Another poem from my english class on Patritisum...The title is so orginal I know.

"
The bombs burst in air.
The solider hangs his head for the brothers and sisters he's lost.
A child cries for the family they will never see again or have never seen.
A flag rests over a solider that finally got to come home;
A mother weeps.

A country thanks them for their services.
To live free there is a price they must pay.
They go and pay it with out greed;
They pay it so one child can sleep at peace tonight.
So, someone else does not have to pay the price and lose it all.

Even though they are sometimes not thanked,
They fight on for the freedom of our country;
And, in the field a solider raises his head.
He fights on for the sake of his fallen comrades and the sake of a country's freedom.
