Won't You Listen

Won't You Listen

A Poem by Aurora .I.
"

Isn't it funny how you start on a project and finish it months later? Well this is one of them. It was originally a short poem I had to write in English but I continued with it. Enjoy!

"
Sometimes you want to cry
Wishing you were the one who died
But there's never enough time
To voice the fears you hold inside
In this game of cat-and -mouse
You always have to hide
You get sick of it
The punching, the hitting
The shooting, the killing
The people constantly dismissing the fact that young people are missing
But according to them, there are more pressing matters to hear
Like the style of clothes or a celebrity coming near
Not the death of a little boy who used to be dear
Please, please
Won't you listen
To the people fishing
For something of a blessing
For security
For love
For safety
For warmth
For something other then the sound of a gun?
Please, Please
Their loved ones are lost
And all they hear
Are the whispered tears of a person who used to be
And all they see
Is the shadow of a ghost
The vivid memories that should've continued to be a reality
You say that you're trying
Yet more are dying
Please...Please...
Stop
And won't you listen

yeah, liked the cat and mouse analogy....I think it might need a little editing to tighten it up, but a commendable piece nonetheless
