The Price We Pay

The Price We Pay

A Poem by Aurora .I.
"

I wrote this for homework. Homework during summer. Awesome.

"
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
The same chant day after day
There's no other solutions
This is the only way
The only resolution
The price we have to pay
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
You can't be some punk
You have to set your presence here
So when their the ones picking the fight
Their the ones questioning their life
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Most think it's only for pride
Which I'm only partially going to deny
We do it because we need to be strong
Or we'll be the ones strung along
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
It starts in the neighborhoods
It ends that way
There's no saving to be done
We're stuck in our ways
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
So turn off the lights
That's all for today

Author's Note

Aurora .I.
I wrote this based off an interview that we had to do for my lookingglass lab summer acting thinga ma bob. We ended up interviewing a guy who had just gotten out of jail and sense our topic was youth violence it was freaking epic. And from that I got this. So yeah. Hope you liked it!
