Ashes to Ashes

Ashes to Ashes

A Poem by Alice Walker

I weep tears of blood
For this pitiful world.
Do you not see,
See how you mortals are destroying all life?
I thought not.
For if you did,
You humans would have wept for your mistakes.
Open your eyes, you pitiful Fools!
Look what you have done,
With your lust for power
And your greed for all.
I beg you mortals,
Halt your foolish follies
And your imaginary realities.
Please, look at the true reality,
Not your false truths
And your corrupted lies.
Please, listen just once,
Heed my words of warning:
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust,
All shall fade when the Angel of Humanity reigns.

I am an aspiring 16 year old author and poet. My stories tend to be on the dark side, but also show the lighter side of reality. I love music and drawing on top of writing whatever I feel like. That a.. more..
