Sadness of Spring

Sadness of Spring

A Poem by soulztealer

Your love carried me, even when I found myself falling
into the belly of the void-
Your love never stopped me from
Extending an arm towards your fading light

Now- All feelings escape me as if I have no heart to
help me bleed such wonderful tears for you
I just want to feel what I use to
And know how before
You became my story where I play a side character
Every word you speak- A Sonnet,
Every curse you scream, A broken record lyric, playing in my head
Even when I try to forget
The beauty in your good, the beauty in your evil
I can't forget and there's nowhere to run or hide
You are in the air when I breathe and crystal clear in the darkness
When I close my eyes,
Every move I make, I feel like I'm living in a body evolved
My very being is an inspiration of what you designed brought to life
I even have leftover sketches on my skin
From your tired pen
Now I must be me without the sadness you have carried since Spring
The rain has been whispering that it will never end above your heart
And that the thorns from roses I've surrounded your heart with have
Pierced it deeper, they have become like barb wire
But I only placed those flowers to remind you of me
And now you always remember me
With that painful memory
Now you go away taking your light,
And your vanishing love has left me with no flight
I spiral into that void your eyes told me I'd never meet
Without the hope of holding your hand as I sink
