Dark of the World

Dark of the World

A Poem by Night Bane
"

Our world should we continue on our path

"

They are gone,

Every last tree has been cut down,

Lakes and rivers and oceans are left dry,

We have used up our natural resources;

Industries have grown too large,

Putting more harmful chemicals in the air.

Flowers begin to wilt,

Grass turns brown with thirst,

The rain becomes acid,

Eating away at buildings and streets.

Hunters return empty handed,

The Lord's creatures lay under the grimy sky sick and dying.

The dark clouds gather and blot out the sun,

Shadowing the earth in a cold, endless night.

We become weak and fall ill,

No medicine to cure us,

No food or water to sustain us.

Our numbers begin to drop,

First we lose the oldest generation,

 Then the youngest,

And soon it attacks the rest.

Demons laugh at our pain,

They now have control over the earth.

No more of God's creations live,

They are gone.
