I Was Not Lead Astray

I Was Not Lead Astray

A Poem by Schaquistia Clark

I Was Not Lead Astray

Come what may I was not lead astray.

A new adventure on my path did wait.

Looking at the life I had nurtured and raised, I thought it was time to pass into the crone.

The Goddess was standing in the shadows and there she did patiently wait.

As I passed, I turned to her and asked, “What am I to do now”?

A smile passed over her lips and her finger held in place, asked me to be patient and wait.

Stride in time she kept pace with mine as I strolled down this path of mine.

A pause in a cold winter night as I contemplated what I was to become.

A new life she did make.

Planted a seed within and my new adventure began.

Still in the time of the mother she was not done with me.

Once again I was not lead astray.
