Walk Beside Her

Walk Beside Her

A Poem by NightMoves
"

A poem I wrote for my son. Hopefully one day he'll grow to be a respectable man and treat his mother with kindness and respect.

"
Walk beside her,
Love her, never go astray.
The love you show her you will replicate,
When you're on your own and move away.

Stand alongside her,
Protect and never be afraid.
Never stop due to fear,
For fear itself will forever fade.

Build her up,
Be selfless and humble.
Obey your mother,
For words can make someone crumble.

I am a figure of failure,
For failure itself is a test.
A test of pursuance to keep a stride,
To keep your head out of the mess.

Hazy thoughts clog one's mind,
Deters yourself from purity.
This world will break your morals,
Flocks of senseless insecurity.

Stay true to what is right,
Read the scriptures every day.
Never give up pursuing the Lord,
And don't forget to pray.

When you grow older I want you to know,
Your mom and I love you unconditionally.
No matter what happens between us,
We promise to discipline you situationally.

There is one thing I want you to take away,
This cold world has a place for you.
A potential to shine through the fog,
To touch other's lives in everything you do.

Family is where this starts.
Remember, when you're in a fighting blurr.
Never take it out on your mom.
Respect and walk beside her.
