Soul Mate

A poem that I wrote August 9, 2016. This poem generally speaks of my soul mate and expresses emotion towards them.

Pain felt deep within.

I know I haven't found you.

Not wanting to would be a sin,

And I would never know a love so true.

We'll know it when we meet

Because something will be amiss,

And our broken hearts will be discreet,

But our souls will yearn for bliss.

I know God knows when we'll be.

Only time can play it out.

We'll have to just wait and see.

No need to fill our hearts with doubt.

That day I find you, soul mate,

I will stay true and never let go

Because I know it's fate

That no other girl had the love you'll show.

So, until then, I bid farewell.

I'll be here drifting with the tide,

Until God tells me to put up the sail,

Thus the moment we collide.

very much true that is perhaps the reason that love can be mysterious and no matter how much we wish for a perfect person or a perfect love it will always result to nothing. i like the choice and use of words, it depicts the search for a soulmate, who is one with you in soul and spirit. lucky are those who have found theirs.
