Distance is only a temporary obstacle, so don't make it deter you away from moving forward and furthering something with someone totally worth it because I let it affect me once, but never again.

Out of nowhere like a flash of light,
Your interest sparks mine.
Spoken like a foreign language,
Translating my heart to yours.
We shared our past tribulations,
Come to find we share common ground.

Take my hand and come with me,
Our past cannot affect who we are today.
Focus your eyes on me.
Let me love you with all of my heart.

Two months with each other in minds eye.
Mine blinked for a moment and drifted away.
Shut you from my life, which left me empty and torn.
Something about you I felt that I needed in my life.
Standing as a cadet in drill at attention,
I knew I needed to man up and gain your affection.

Take my hand and come with me,
This past cannot affect who we are today.
Focus your eyes on me.
Let me love you with all of my heart.

God sent forgiveness you gave to me.
For that I give to you my word
That history won’t repeat itself,
And my heart is truly yours.

Focused with goal in sight of this beautiful thing we share,
Decided to push further into this situation.
Taking that leap of faith to what extent?
My heart and soul fully in depth with this.
So hold on tight and be patient with me.
Our future is beautiful, just wait and see.
