Mourning Dove

Mourning Dove

A Poem by NightMoves
"

Written in hope to find "the one who I so love" (1/26/2015)

"
Oh, where are you my soon to be,
The one who I so love?
You came to me within a dream
In the form of a mourning dove.

You sing to me so calm and serene,
I fell in love at first sight.
If you come to me, I vow,
I will protect you with all of my might.

Your voice will call my sweet name,
And I will hear you out of the rest,
For I know you are the only one
The others were all a test.

Fly high mourning dove,
Spread your wings and fly away.
This will not be the last time I see you,
For tomorrow will be a new day.

Author's Note

NightMoves
Yes, I know this poem may be a bit grammatically incorrect or irregular. I wrote this in some sort of an "ode," which has my own twist of meter. (ABCB DEFE HIJI... etc.) I do not know if there is such a meter out there, but I use this with all of my writings, usually.
