My Place

My Place

A Poem by Jade-UH

Sitting on my rock
Beside my stream
In the middle of the woods
Is where you'll find me

This is my place
I'm here for many reasons
To be alone, to get away
To think and to forget

Surrounded by the trees
With leaves everywhere
Sometimes in my hair

My favorite season passing by
Like birds in the sky
Singing their song
A beautiful melody

Something to calm me
The flow of the stream
Taking hold of me
Drifting through my thoughts
Invited to get lost

Leaving my troubles behind
I take in my surroundings
Closing my eyes to listen
The everyday noises
Of the creatures around
Making such an exquisite sound

The places that we go
Ones to call our own
To forget the world
To forget our troubles
To get lost and be free
Making life a little easier
When we drift through the trees...
