The World Will Never Be the Same

The World Will Never Be the Same

A Poem by Jade-UH
"

I originally had to write it for my English class and ended up falling in love with it. I wrote it at one in the morning on the way back from a concert.. and I'm quite impressed with myself for that..

"
She got up to dress
The rise and fall of her chest
Another day
Alive and well
Taken for granted
Like most of us do
Death not being
A thing we pursue
And the world will never be the same

Take a shower
Brush your teeth
A little make-up
And your favorite outfit
Ready for the day to begin
Though soon enough
It would end
And the world will never be he same

Off to school
Book bag in hand
A long day planned
Teachers and homework
Playtime and friends
It's all in good fun
And the world will never be the same

The last bell rings
School is out for the day
It's now time
To run and play
Kids all around
Waiting for the bus
Half the day is over
And the world will never be the same

A doctors appointment
The scary start
Something’s wrong
With her heart
A small mass
Rests inside
No need to fear
It's proved benign
But as you know
It's not for long
And the world will never be the same

Everything’s ok
Back to the old ways
Friends and fun
For the rest of our days
Sad to say
Their not here to stay
And the world will never be the same

"I feel odd" she said.
"Oh your fine sweaty
you’re probably just nervous
for the new year of school"
Her mom whispered sweetly
to lull her favorite daughter.
"You’re probably right
I love you and good night".
Say this while you can
For you never know
What god has planned
And the world will never be the same

The next day came too soon
With a pain one can't ignore
Couldn't lift herself off the floor
Straight to the hospital
No doctor this time
No longer benign
Nothing to change
Don't want to wage
No time to spare
And the world will never be the same

She's doing great
Progress on our side
Getting better
With each treatment
Many visitors
In and out
She's never bored
Without a doubt
All is well
So the end is near
Everyone’s
Greatest fear
And the world will never be the same

Progress erased
We've moved back
And retraced
The steps that we've made
Like they never were
They've gone away
And the world will never be the same

Fading fast
Her days are last
She's holding on
With nothing left
Days are numbered
Hours too
It's hard to believe
It happened so quickly
In the blink of an eye
Soon enough
She would die
And the world will never be the same

The world may never be the same
But you can say a few words everyday
in memory of a friend
Or to make a memory
That will never end
It might hurt to remember
But why want to forget
Don't deny that it happened
But see it in a better way
They moved on
Another chapter in life
So say your prayers
And then good night
And the world will never be the same
