We kept trying far too long
The moment we started we knew it was wrong
my heart saying ‘i love you’ my head saying ‘not’
we were the ones fate must have forgot

and we cliche’d with the best of them
the poets will tell you we had to end

And the worst part is
i remember our first kiss
And I recall you almost missed
But every story has its twist
You’ll get your happy ending

Ill need you again – but ill try not to call
cause we both know it wont work at all
well come back to this place and remember back when
fueld with nostalgia we’ll try it again

And we cliche’d with the best of them
