New York City

New York City

A Poem by Night Jasmine

A concrete jungle love story
An electric city
Adorned with wire vines and steal rail lines that take the city to new heights
Underground echoes like the bass of a beating heart
The sparkle in your eyes resemble the same bright light as the skyline at night
Millions of voices in the crowd like the millions of thoughts rushing through my mind as your hands drift over my skin, sending chills racing down my spine faster than a speeding train on the express line
Just for a moment everything stops
Wind blowing
Tossing and turning pages of yesterdays paper through empty subway tunnels
Yellow cab horns and ambulance sirens are hushed
Just for a moment
You are all I see
You are all I hear
You are all I feel
Just for a moment and the chaos resumes

Lovely descriptive poetry here giving us the readers a glimpse into other places and situations, the hustle and bustle of a New York minute.
