Ask For Directions.

Ask For Directions.

A Poem by Nicky Sarti

Is it wrong to be thinking about his oldest friend like that?
He isn’t the one, but does that really matter nowadays?
Could or should you ever go there?
Maybe it is all a little too close for comfort.
I know he isn’t Mister Perfect, but I am too old to be picky now.
Holding out is fine for youngsters, that have forever to wait.
But when you get to a certain age in life things change.
You get to that moment when it becomes, “when not if;” is the right time to let go.
I know that love can happen anytime within a person’s life.
But honestly, who really wants to be sat there alone while you wait?
If he is around the next corner and he gets lost; it is unlikely he will ask for directions!
