Never Had...

Never had an MRI before, never have I been inside that metal tube.

It looks like a coffin without an end, maybe not the best thing to be thinking of at this point though!

They say it makes a noise, I thought it would not be bad; thank goodness for Heart FM to keep the sound at bay.

I swear it was going to fall a[art, or swallow me whole; nothing quite like being eaten alive!

It clunked and it whirred, vibrated and rattled; and that was before it had even begun!

It felt so close, as if I could not move.

Could not see a thing, probably best that way too! 

The laying still in one position was hard, caused stiffness galore.

The heat was a shock, never expected that.

“My stomachs getting warm...” I said with concern, “It’s normal” They say; as if I was going to know that.

It took less time than I expected, about twenty minutes; it was getting up that took the time!

Maybe I won’t be so excited to have a scan next time around.

Hi Nicki, this is all obviously a trauma for you and raw. But you have written about a difficult subject well. You express feelings that I doubt anyone has written about and it brings it home well to the reader.
