Majime's ConcernA Chapter by Nicolerhi
"Caroline," Majime called to me as I approach her, "...why are you holding a bin?" I look down at my arms, realizing that I indeed still have the bin in them. I set it on the ground, "...well...it was kinda my excuse..."
"I won't ask," she crosses her arms and stares at me seriously. "What was it you wanted to talk about?" I asked to break the short silence. Majime's gaze was directed at the sky, a light blue with the sun shining brightly, "I want answers." "Answers? To what?" although, that was a rather obvious question. She turned to me, "What do you think? ...her death, of course. I bet I sound over-dramatic to you," Majime continues, "but I want to find the evidence, to then find her murderer, and then see them locked away...so that they will never be able to kill again." "How do you plan to do that? We're not trained investigators, or anything. We don't have equipment, a team, or access to any of the evidence because the police took it." "We have to try, Caroline-san!" Majime exclaimed, but then hushed her voice, "what's to say they won't again? They killed once, got away scot-free, so they are perfectly able to kill another." she takes a deep breath, "I just want your support as I do this, I texted Jabir too....but I suppose he didn't see it. Will you help me?" Majime's blue eyes seem darker somehow, much darker that the day before. Her slightly bubbly personality seems to have vanished, I can tell she is indeed serious about this whole thing. I exhale slowly, "Of course I'll help you, we're friends, right?" "Thanks," her frown momentarily turns to a grin, "and I'm lucky to have a friend like you." © 2018 Nicolerhi |
