The Droplet of RainA Poem by NicolerhiA poem I wrote for a christian leadership competition.
Plink. Plink. Plink.
Little droplets descend to the earth, down, down, down, they fall for falling is a must and they must fall. Because I've seen no droplet that's ever ascended All must fall and all must fail, according to the raindrops. Pitter, they patter, plink, plink. Outside my window, a transparent reflection into my soul. Faint, foggy, forever falling Weight of the world, I cascade down to the ground. And opened is its large, black lips, unfurling its slimy wet tongue, frothing, foaming, and prepping to swallow me whole. Caught just before my plunge, deep into the throat of the abyss, by the long, nimble branches of the oak, outside my once window Clinging tightly to my saving grace, it reciprocates, and neither of us will fall, for the other is there. Soon, the rain will clear, all the fallen droplets will remain where they are, and the clouds will part, and the sun will poke its head out, and dry all the raindrops who had been caught. And, perhaps, so long as I stay clinging to this branch, I'll ascend to that bright, shiny ball. Plink. Plink. Plink.

Poems are the best, but short stories and plays (thespian here!) are cool too! I like writing about religious subjects.. more..Writing
