Serving the MoonA Poem by Nicole Renee
The moon is full glowing with all the glory of the Hunter's moon.
The naked tree branches sway in the breeze that has a bite to it. A creature lurks with red eyes glowing, waiting for the perfect timing. He sits and lingers while an unexpected victim rummages through the forest, The scent of fear floating lingering in the midnight air. Only waiting for another minute, the beast races! And he doesn't stop until he's on his hind legs, Bringing up a low growl from the pit of his stomach. It turns into a grueling howl, bouncing off the trees With an anticipation that only the animals would feel. Then without hesitation, the beast grins and drips down To face his victim, flashing his claws before swiping once. SWISH! Now the deed was done, a puddle of dark crimson Soaking into the grass to serve to the trees, The beast giving another dominant howl Before blending into the night as though he was thin air...
