So Forbidden, Yet So Wonderful I

So Forbidden, Yet So Wonderful I

A Poem by Nicole Renee

He loved her

And she loved him.

That’s all that mattered

And that’s all that counted.

But she had a painted face,

Her lips colored with a color of a red rose,

The art of love forbidden in her world.

So it was strange to her as her emotions

Went wild with a new tingle, a new touch,

A new excitement when his smile grew

To the woman that was behind the white face.

She tried to supress the matter, to ignore

The whole world,even though it

Was tipping against the rules.

And as she tried to ignore it,

He was a man of status,

And a partner to his best friend

In the dance of business,

Having no force to have

His manners go against what

He learned in his childhood growning up.

His life was saved in the World War,

And he owes so much to be alive,

Only taking the minor damage of a

Broken rib as his friend took on the full hit.

So he was torn when he had to go

Against his heart’s desires,

Angered by his own selfiness

And his own desire to fall for
The one woman that was so kind,

So sweet, so graceful in her steps and dance.

So the man stepped aside for a possible greater

Happiness for his friend, owning him his whole life

For what had happened so many years ago….

Author's Note

Nicole Renee
This was inspired by what I was thinking of last night after I watched Memoirs of a Geisha (excellent movie!), so I guess this poem is based off of that.

This poem became super long, so I have to put this into parts.
