A Self-Doubting Corpsebride

A Self-Doubting Corpsebride

A Poem by Nicole Renee

The blood running

Through my veins

Is keeping me alive and well,
The soul of writing

Being my beating heart.

It keeps me living with no regrets,

Watching everyday

Pass as a new idea

Forms inside my mind

Like a budding rose growing

Into the eternal sunlight

That would never fade away.

Yet I can’t help but wonder if

I can defeat everything

 That’s shoved into my face,

Beating me senseless as

I stared into its eyes

With only little pain,
Yet bitter from the blood

That would usually

Be around my hands.

I can only fight this so

Many times before

I’m knocked down on

My feet again, the blackness

Covering my eyes as I watch

The pieces of my world fall into place…..

Ignore the line breakage.

Don't ask about the 'Corspebride' part....It just came to me.
