My Twin, The StripedA Poem by Nicole ReneeFor the 'Rock My Socks' contest. My twin, the striped, I owe you my life! You saw me alone on the carpet And you called out my name, Saying a hello and how've you been As we started a wonderful relationship With each other living a seperate foot! Thinking about that day makes me fill up With a blessful glee, yet with a pool of sadness As I think about the day you left my side. You couldn't stand the puddles and The tiny, cramed shoe that you lived in, Wanting to be on a dancer's foot Or in a photographere's lens. Well, my twin, I will miss you dearly And will feel sorrow until I find another twin Just like you. But for now, when you Get into Hollywood or a dancer's shoe closet, You better send me a letter © 2008 Nicole ReneeAuthor's Note
