Burning

Burning

A Story by Nicole Izzy R.

I Dare you to look at an inch of your body and not think of me.
At your cheeks and every tear i wiped off them.
At your neck and not feel my lips still on it.
At your birthmarks and not see every line i drew on them with my fingers in the early hours of dawn as if they were a constellation.
Everything i did with you left a mark even if you don't see it.
You lit the match and burnt my whole being yet you complain that you burnt your tongue from my last warm breath. You burnt me and you still blame my ashes for the smell of gas on your hands...
