Gentle Ghosts

Gentle Ghosts

A Poem by Nicole Laszlo
"

Straight forward poem. Older one.

"

These gentle ghosts

Keep playing at my fears

These gentle ghosts

Keep dancing-

In my slowly drying tears

These gentle ghosts

Have haunted me all these years

But I've taken these gentle ghosts

And I've taught them about time

I've taken these gentle ghosts

And I've taught them how to rhyme

I've taken these gentle ghosts

And I've taught them how to fly

I've taken these gentle ghosts

And I've taught them how to lie

Oh yes-

I've had these gentle ghosts

For quite some while

And I've taught them how to smile

But I've grown tired

As of late

And I do not wish

For this to be my fate

So it's time-

I suppose-

To take these gentle ghosts

And teach them slowly-

Softly-

How to go

Hauntingly beautiful, Nicole. :)

Seems to be a metaphor of a persons demons/problems perhaps? Maybe the ghosts represent these problems or a certain depression.

I like how it's slightly vague, lending an aura of interpretation to this poem.

A fine poem, Milady! ;)
