Dark at Daybreak

Dark at Daybreak

A Poem by Nicole Laszlo

It was dark at daybreak

A time

When those who walked in silence

Never woke the dead

- I thought you ought to know

For it was dark at day break

But we knew day had come

For dew found itself

Resting in the grass

But when it rained

Everything felt like morning

--A welcome lie

And still they say

(Those who walk in silence)

And still they say

It's only rain
