Five Bodies Found

Five Bodies Found

A Poem by Nicole Laszlo

There were five bodies found-

Down at town square that day

Five bodies found

Yet not a single sound

As snow fell to the streets

In beautiful white sheets

People passed these bodies by

But no one noticed-

So no one mourned

And no one cried

Day by day

The bodies were slowly buried in the snow

The concrete beneath them-

Being hidden too

Yet it seems no one lost

Because no one noticed-

So no one mourned

And no one cried

In time

No one walked these streets

The winter was too harsh

The town square was empty

-Empty and white

But that too, passed-

In time

And in that time

When the square had cleared

And people passed through it once more

The bodies were gone

But no one noticed-

So no one mourned

And no one cried

Because the bodies-

Were never found
