The Quest

The Quest

A Poem by Nicole L'Amour

The road faded, into gravel.
The sky darkened, into grey.
I knew it was unsafe to travel,
but there was no other way.
The night was soon falling,
It was now a race.
I led on to my heart's calling,
with now faster pace.
A heavy fog fell,
as if the clouds were now grounded.
A witch cast a spell,
now by darkness  I was surrounded.
"I am not afraid " I express
into the cold persistence of the night
"I must continue on my quest,"
by now the distance was out of sight.

Author's Note

Nicole L'Amour
Very new to writing, this is one of my first. It just came to me so I wrote it, and it was originally meant to be part o a bigger story. So I am aware of improper formatting in all my writings.

Love it. Definitely been in this situation before and related to the way you describe it.

Recommend "with now faster pace" become "with a now faster pace"

A fitting title. Makes me think of the bravery of king Arthur's knights despite the darkness of the times.
