Blank

Blank

A Poem by NicoleKailey

Out in the blankness of ocean

I am stuck by a curing notion,

Can fate be shaken;

Can new purpose I awaken?

If I find myself lost where I am meant to be

Can I wander far back out to sea?

If all is calm and all is right

Set in stone, or black and white

Will destiny begrudge my plight

To favor darkness over light?

Sirens sing songs of sultry sound,

Of adventures I have not yet found

And so I’ll seek what I wish to hold,

Leaving maps and breaking molds.

Abandoning company, a must

Pioneering is lonely lust.

I will unearth all that is buried

My innateness never wearied.

And this digging will never cease

Only in pursuit of passions will I find peace.
