Befriending the Wind

Befriending the Wind

A Poem by Nicole Jane Marie

You tell it a story and it talks back,

Whistling with sympathy or encouragement.

The breeze unjudging, singing it’s song,

That makes you feel more at home than your family does.

He never leaves you.

The bite he has in winter is only to remind you that he is still there,

Never changing, unlike the chaos of everything else.

Close your eyes, listen to the rustling,

And it will take you back to where you really want to be.

Beautiful description! In just a few words you really described so much. Talks back, nonjudgmental, giving sympathy and encouragement, singing, family, never leaves, bite of winter, never changing, take you back to where you want to be and listen to the rustling. Wow! Nice!
