Haven

Haven

A Poem by Nicole Klein

Swaying in the distance are trees of palm

To some they are trees but to me they mean calm

You know looking at the radiant sun

That the day will bring endless fun

You lie on the sand and look up at the sky

And wonder how much time has really gone by

But you don’t have time to ponder

Because there is more to do down yonder

The waves pour onto your feet

Making for a nice break to the excessive heat

You know that in this moment forever

You will never be this happy, never

You know that this is where your heart is graven

In fact I call it my safe haven

Your poem was calming itself. I think part of that had to do with not only the words but the italicized font. This made me feel like I was back on the beach again. I could imagine the scene that you set up. great job :)
I also liked how you made it rhyme :)
