Razor Kissed Wrists

Razor Kissed Wrists

A Poem by Nicole
"

"Life is easy with your eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see" -John Lennon

"
You can see me smile,
Hear me laugh,
Taste my kisses,
Feel my warmth.
But do you know me behind what you see?

If I were to show you the "me" behind this facade,
will you still embrace me, kiss me, make me laugh, look at my smile...
Would you still be there?
In the light you say you can see my radiance,
but when the lights go out you will understand.

If I can not feel love, I rather feel pain.
So I drew smiles on my wrists with rusty razors.
Stained with red, the color of my essence.
Through the misery you were there for me.
You gave me another reason to smile, reasons not the same.

But different.
Every reason, in its own way original from the last,
Believe me when I write this.
Because this is something I know I'll never be able to say to you...

I'll give you my heart, just please.. I beg of you. Don't return it broken.

The pain felt real and the longing for some one to understand was clear. It was depressing but that was purposely done. I feel sorry for the person handed the heart because how can one keep a heart from braking when the giver still holds the hammer of depression. It was touching and the words were smooth. A good poem

I really loved this piece. It seemed to come from the heart and it made me feel less alone in the world. Great Job, keep writing.
