February 9, 1912A Chapter by NicoleOpening the first envelople I began to read:
Dear my love, My love, oh how I miss you so. The searing path your caressing touch leaves on my skin, the warmth and wetness of your mouth. The dark depths of the ocean in your eyes. You know how much it hurts to write this, tears from my eyes soak into this very paper. It feels like my chest is set on fire every time I breathe. Every time my mind wonders to your loving embrace my heart stops. But I cannot prolong these words any more....
The ink where her tears fell have soaked into the paper leaving ink marks. I looked at the stack of letters awaiting me, and my heart literally falls out of my chest. It feels like a black hole has formed in my chest, and sucked my heart into its depths of nothing. I put the letter back into its envelope and start to light a cigarette. The moon has already taken over the skies, and darkness has fallen upon the world. Lights from cars, street lamps, and buildings illuminate the city. The slow murmur of people walking about caresses my ears, taking a drag of my cigarette my mind wondering off into the blissful plain of your smile, the warmth of your embrace, and soothing sheet that covers me when you were by my side.
