Three Cigarettes

Three Cigarettes

A Poem by Nicole
"

Story of my life.

"

Popping pills, smoking weed, drinking alcohol.

What does it mean?

A cigarette in the morning to get me to the next,

A cigarette at lunch to get me to the last,

A cigarette in the evening to get me through the day.

Three cigarettes.

Seven days a week. Four weeks a month. Twelve months in a year.

For the rest of my life, it is my curse.

Three cigarettes.

To get me through the day.

AH .. I REMEMBER IT WELL... lighting up at lunch
would serendipitously bring your food faster ...
A curse indeed but you did get a smoking poem out of it..

it's a song about a love triangle.... check it out...

Wow, I really liked this. You think "it's just 3 ciggys, no big deal right?" But over a lifetime it adds up. I like how you say "it's your curse," because I have alot of friends who can't seem to quite either. I've never been addicted to and drug, but this made me sympathize a little for those who are. Well done.

Wow, nice. Depressing, but in the way that you think, "Okay, I can deal with this." I don't know, that's just the message I got under the three cigarettes thing. Great poem. I really felt this one, which is rare for me.

I felt like I was reading a diary of my years in middle/high school. I couldn't get through a day without a nicotine fix. The worst was trying to sneak one in at lunch without getting caught by the teacher who was on duty for the day. I thought I would never quit and then one day while I was smoking I took a drag exhaled looked at my friend and said I quit. She couldn't believe me especially since I smoked a pack a day, but I am proud to say I haven't had one since. That was seven years ago. Regardless of that I really enjoyed your poem it brought me back in time. nicely done.

Well written. I'm basically in the same boat as this poem. At least it's only 3 cigarettes in this case. For me, it's about 10.
