Quarantine

Quarantine

A Poem by Nicole
"

because everyone has one

"
Like rotted petals
That used to be sea blue and white
Now drowning and shut in
If you come to me
Bring back the sun
Removed from this cave
of coughing bats
Chasing truth
Tiny spaces and all too familiar faces
Fighting to coexist
Following the same path
Windows closed with invisible bonding
Taped tight
When we leave will the gods hoard
As we have?
Awaiting the day when
Planets can breathe freely

Such a sadly sincere post. Nicole. What you say is true, there are so many shadows in our lives, so many holes where feelings, sights and assurances should be. Like so many peeps, have fought strong fears, but suddenly i felt damn it - defiance and patience could be the best protection. Its far from easy, often fail, but surely better than giving up the sight and feel of what we do still have. Stay hopeful, luv.. Take care, keep safe. Come chat if you want..

I think the entire planet is aching to breathe freely again. I, too, await the day. Lovely piece!

Thank you! Stay safe! 🙏🏻
Gives me a real feeling of claustrophobia. That's precisely what this virus has done to many. We have turned inwards on ourselves and distant from others. This write also has other layers to it.

ugh, i can feel the stifling mask and being shut in. i hate it - very unnatural. we can't even breathe freely. it's uncomfortably surreal - the new normal. makes me appreciate the simple freedoms we once had. an uncomfortable situation for sure as you capture the essence of being 'quarantined' ... :)

I know. People are stupid. You can't tell them anything. They don't believe it could happen to them.
