You Did Not Come - A PoemA Chapter by N. C. MatthewsA poem written after the break-up between my bf @ the time and myself. Age: 17 or 18I prayed for you, and you did not come. I thought of you, and you did not come. I ached for you, and you did not come. I whispered for you, and you did not come. I asked for you, and you did not come. I begged for you, and you did not come. I screamed for you, and you did not come. I cried for you, and you did not come. I would die for you..... Epilogue: The wind blew softly through the trees, the smell of pine fresh upon the air. The leaves murmured a tearful prayer, their sounds drifting over the hill. The willows weeped silently over the grave, their heads bowed in quiet grief. And they left.
