Gingerbread - A PoemA Chapter by N. C. MatthewsOne of the first poems I ever wrote. Age: about 13From coast to coast it wanders through; Like drenching rains, a life is new. W sing a song while wings aflame, Find us calling on the other's name. And desire comes, as ours, the pleasure; Finding something in the other to treasure. Back on earth we know the glee Of having the other and they to see. But many things are left behind; What may be dull might once have shined. So is it a lie when it is said, That love is sweet as ginger bread? © 2010 N. C. Matthews |
