youthful tears

youthful tears

A Poem by Nico
"

as a young man I wanted to do so much, help those in need....for the lonely....for those shunned by society....loveless......etc.

"

manlookingoutwindow.jpg picture by blueskyns1959

I would like to do something
more and to greatly engage
myself for those that travel to
another world because this one
doesn't descend anymore for them.

for those that feel oppressed
in the grasp of their perplexities
and that know they have lost
too much already and that their only
desire is to win at least one precious race.

I would like to devote myself
and to give everything I've got
to give everything one can give...
to those that have knocked
on every door already
and always got a no,
to those that remained
lonely in so much trouble.

and I would like to liberate
every spirit close to mine
I would like to do something
more for these young tears
I would wish that they would
never fall, that my heart and words

could prevent their fall.

to you who stays alone
behind a window while you're
looking who's leaving and you
cry because you know that
person won't come back anymore

to you because you are being
put aside because you have never
been pretty and you don't have a
love story although you're
waiting for one with open arms

I would like to be the person to cheer up

every spirit close to mine

I would like to do something
more for these young tears
I would wish that they would
never fall, that my heart and words

could prevent their fall.

there are many things I wanted to do
that I could somehow give to everybody,
if only I had arms as big
as my loving heart,

to wipe away those tears

of loneliness,

to soothe every lost soul,

to extend my hand and prevent

their tearful fall,

If only I could turn back time

I would of done so much more,

Yesterday is in the past

and gone and all I have left

are these tears of cowardness

and shame, for failing to wipe

away the misery out there,

for not making a difference,

I can only seek out forgiveness

for only now I realize

There was so much more I

could and should of done,

these youthful tears will

forever flow to create

a river of sorrow and sadness,

IF ONLY I COULD HAVE............

Dude, you are a powerful voice...you are doing something right now, whether you know it or not. You are affecting US...your words are affecting each one of us who reads this. You are making a difference right this very second, for you have affected me. Thank you so much for sending me this to read because I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am a better person for having read it.

One piece of advice, though...let your white horse out to pasture; I had to let mine go. I have for years tried to play savior only to be hurt more times than I can count. The world is a lot colder place than you might think. Just let him run free out on the plains of our past. And think to yourself, I cannot save the world, but I AM, I AM, making a difference with my writing.
Peace.
Peaches.

if we all could find just a bit of this compassion in our own hearts - that would bea wonderful thing indeed.

This is a powerful work. It is inspiring as well. Regrets are silly, though, because as long as you are still alive, you can do what you will. To look back and regret is to forget your future. The time is always now. I really liked this a lot. Thanks for sending it to me to read. Cheers.

The simplistic nature of this piece increases its sincere and heartfelt vibe. It's really nice to read because the reader empathises with the narrator and feels glad that there are others out there who care - also, from reading some of the reviews you've received, it looks like you've got people thinking about their own desire to do good, which they've maybe neglected lately. I say: you can't save or help or free everyone but if you try your best with as many as you can then you've made a difference - even if it's just one person, you've made a difference. Also, keep spreading the word through your writing.

Spotted a few places where way you've expressed things could be altered a little:

"for those that feel oppressed" - I'd change "that" to 'who', because you use 'that' 3 or 4 times in this stanza

"I would of done so much more" - grammatically, 'of' = 'have'

"There was so much more I
could and should of done" - same as above

"are these tears of cowardness" [cowardness = cowardice?]

Overall, great work. Challenging yet lovely to read.

Regrets from the past have the double force of being missed opportunities and lost vitality to accomplish them now.

Yet, we can still do what we can do...and sometimes that is the best way to make up for those possibilities that we did not pursue.

Good work, truly!

this is a gorgeous piece, and definitely embodies a soul filled with goodness and grace.

and it's never too late... to be that man.

but i think you know that.

"I would wish that they would
never fall, that my heart and words
could prevent their fall."

i really liked that part.

i really dont know much to say. BE THIS PERSON. forever. never give up on it. yes, we fail, and yes sometimes we don't do all we can, but just the sentiments you express here show that you have done so much already.

hugs

I believe your longing to help others and your expressions of such will create alot of help and give hope to many. Although you may feel you did not do enough, your longing to do so expresses that you are a truly loving soul and most likely helped many along your way whether you realize it or not. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself in this kind and loving poem.

This is a strong piece and makes me feel my own shame for the things I could have done. Regret oozes from your words here but you know its never too late!

Heartfelt and well written poem.

it's the 'what ifs' that destroy us... this is a great piece of writing... very powerful
i agree with Robert - you cant give up - your thoughts/writings may help one person - and so on and so on...
